PRINCE GEORGE – Upwards of a dozen police cruisers arrived on scene with guns drawn at a residence on the corner of Freeman street and 5th Avenue on Wednesday evening.
Prince George RCMP said Wednesday evening that they were investigating a report of a man walking down the street with a firearm just after 6 pm.
“Thankfully, it turns out it was young man walking with an air soft rifle. However, this type of report will always generate an immediate and serious police response, as there is no way to identify an air soft rifle from a real firearm at a glance. We thank the public for making this report when they saw something concerning to them,” states Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.
