PRINCE GEORGE – The Minister Responsible for the Pacific Economic Development Agency was on hand at the True North Conference. The Honourable Harjit Sajjan was on hand to announce an expansion of a new federal $110 million fund, PacifiCan, outside the Lower Mainland and into rural BC. Offices will be established in six communities like Prince George and Fort St. John, though the date is unknown.

And the Minister says it is a logical progression.

“I am committed to championing and working with Prince George and all communities throughout British Columbian. With the launch of PacifiCan, BC businesses have a dedicated federal partner that recognizes the unique strengths and challenges of BC’s dynamic economy.”

PacifiCan is the regional development agency dedicated to British Columbia. It promotes growth and diversification in British Columbia’s economy by enhancing innovation, improving business competitiveness, promoting the adoption of clean technologies and inclusive growth.
