PG couple claim $1M Lotto 6/49 prize

PRINCE GEORGE — A couple from Prince George is planning a trip to Paris after winning $1 million dollars playing Lotto 6/49.

Marion and Gary Gunther bought their tickets the morning of the June 1 draw from Save-On-Foods on West Austin Road.

“Not thinking at all, I started scanning the first ticket, not a winner, scanned the next ticket, $1 million, scanned the third ticket, not a winner, and then I realized what I saw, says Marion. “I started to cry tears of joy.”

Marion says her son told her “to do something for yourself” with the winnings.

Aside from a trip to Paris, the Gunthers plan to save their prize for their retirement.
