100 MILE HOUSE — RCMP are thanking the staff and students of Peter Skene Ogden Secondary (PSO) in 100 Mile House, for their support of a lockdown training exercise Thursday (June 9) morning at the school.

During the planned exercise, 100 Mile House and B.C. Highway Patrol members completed drills to deal with several types of real-life emergency scenarios that could take play in school settings.

In a news release, RCMP says the training exercise had the blessing of School District 27 administration. It says teachers, staff, student and parents of the students were informed of the event prior to it occurring. RCMP say no weapons were displayed during the training.

Staff and students used musical instruments to make noises to simulate sounds that would be present during the training scenarios. Mounties say all of those involved in the training, were willing participants.
