Police incident on 200-block of Voyageur Drive

PRINCE GEORGE — Update: RCMP have provided a final update on this morning’s police incident on the 200 block of Voyageur Drive.

RCMP arrived on scene just before 7 a.m. to find a man on the roof of a home with a rifle.

A crisis negotiator, the Emergency Response Team, Police Dog Services and Prince George Fire Rescue were all called in to help out.

After a short time, the man came down from the roof and he was apprehended under the Mental Health Act. He is currently in hospital being assessed.

Earlier: RCMP say the incident has wrapped up and residents no longer need to avoid the area.

Earlier: Avoid the 200 block of Voyageur Drive if you can.

RCMP and the Emergency Response Team are there in relation to a complaint from a house in the area.

Mounties ask that people give RCMP and first responders the space to do their work.

No other information has been released.
