Armed bandit robs 150 Mile House service station

150 MILE HOUSE, B.C. — UPDATE: Williams Lake RCMP say the vehicle involved in the armed robbery was located later Wednesday on Ninth Avenue in Williams Lake.

Three people were located inside the home and several arrests were made.

RCMP are still looking for information into the robbery.

EARLIER: RCMP are investigating an early morning armed robbery near Williams Lake.

In a news release, Williams Lake RCMP say it happened Wednesday morning (June 15) at about 4:10 a.m., at the 150 Mile House Esso station. Officers responded to a report of a man with a gun walking into the station, confronting the lone employee and making off with cash and merchandise.

The man was seen getting into a dark-coloured Chrysler 200 with Alberta license plates and driving off.

“When the presence firearms in an offence, the element of danger is quickly elevated. We are thankful that no one was injured,” said Staff Sgt. Del Byron.
