PRINCE GEORGE – National Indigenous Peoples Day is swiftly approaching and with that comes the need for volunteers.

June 21 st Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park will be jam-packed with people, bands, and activities all in honour of our Indigenous communities across Canada.

Jen Rubadeau, who is the event coordinator of National Indigenous People’s Day says, she is so excited to have this event back and it will be bigger and better than ever.

” The way that this event takes place, is that it’s really the community coming together to support the community and it’s a community-led, for the community,” explains Rubadeau “So it’s a whole lot of community that needs to come together on all the different facets to make this event what it is.”

Rubadeau says they are in need of volunteers from 8:30 till about 8:30 at night. If you’re interested in helping out you can head to the P.G. National Indigenous Peoples Day for the proper form to fill out.

With that being said, they are also looking for a few more vendors as well. Anna Babluck, who is the vendor lead for National Indigenous Peoples Day says, they could use a few more artisan vendors to round everything out.

” We have all sorts of food and artisan vendors as well as community partners coming to set up booths for the day, and, we do still have a little bit of room left,” says Babluck “Particularly for artisan vendors, we could really use people from the community to come out and showcase their wares. It’s only twenty-five dollars for a booth.”

The deadline for vendor applications is today June 15 th. So, if you were considering it, don’t wait and head to this link, to fill out that form.
