PRINCE GEORGE– Peter Hilger was born and raised in Vancouver but is now a professor at the University of Minnesota. A man with a love of biking. So much he made it his goal to bike across Canada.

The 66-year-old Hilger has done trips like this in the past. 21 of them to be specific. For this trip though he has made it his mission to raise money for three charities. Can Do Canines, a charity that helps train and gives service dogs to people in need. Nuestro Pequenos Hermanos, a charity dedicated to transforming the lives of vulnerable children in Latin America and the Caribbean with homes, healthcare, and educational programs. And a scholarship for his students at the University of Minnesota.

Hilger says that biking coast to coast takes a lot of patience, especially since he is funding the trip himself. But he does have a lot of useful things with him at all times on his trusty bike like camping gear and of course a credit card to stay in motels and support the local economy.
