SPCA offering 50% off cat adoption fees
PRINCE GEORGE — The BC SPCA is offering 50 per cent off adult cat adoption fees until June 30 to help free up space in its locations for incoming animals.
The non-profit says its shelters are overwhelmed with cats, including in northern B.C. where 120 cats were rescued from a property in Fort St James earlier this month.
“This time of year is always very busy with incoming animals and these large-scale intakes place additional demands on our facilities and resources,” says Lorie Chortyk, general manager of communications for the BC SPCA.
“We are definitely getting more and more requests for help on properties where hoarding situations have gotten out of control, or people are just overwhelmed with the number of animals they are caring for,” she adds.
