PRINCE GEORGE—If downtown looks a bit cleaner than normal that is because the Community Safety Hub hosted a summer clean-up day on Friday.

Employees, clients and peers from several agencies including the PG Native Friendship Centre, Northern Health, PG Nechako Aboriginal Employment & Training Association, BC Schizophrenia Society PG Branch, City of PG Outreach, and the Downtown PG Clean Team participated in the event. Over 70 individuals spent the day cleaning areas of the downtown core.

“This was a fantastic day and an excellent way to roll out the welcome mat for citizens and visitors to enjoy our downtown as we head into the summer months. The diverse participation truly demonstrated the commitment to work together in building ownership and pride in our downtown. Many thanks to everyone!” says Colleen Van Mook, Executive Director of Downtown Prince George.

Participants received lunch prepared by the White Goose Bistro from their new food truck.
