Flood watch issued for Upper Fraser and Fraser Rivers

Jun 30, 2022 | 4:51 PM

PRINCE GEORGE — A flood watch has been issued for the Upper Fraser River, including areas from Prince George through the Robson Valley and the Mcgregor River.

The BC River Forecast Centre has also issued a flood watch for the fraser from Prince George to Quesnel. Both flood watches were issued at 3 p.m. this afternoon (June 30).

It’s all due to a combination of rapid snowmelt and rainfall this week. In light of this, members of the public are advised to stay clear of the fast flowing rivers and potentially unstable riverbanks.
