PG's June jobless numbers go up a touch

A slight increase in PG’s unemployment rate for June

PRINCE GEORGE- Slightly more people were looking for work here , contributing to a rise in PG’s jobless rate at 5.3 percent last month, compared to 4.4 percent in May. We’re still sitting pretty year over year though ,with an unemployment rate of 6.1 percent in June of last year.

There was very little change in BC’s overall jobless rate at 4.6 per cent last month , compared to 4.5 percent in May .

The national jobless rate fell to another record low last month, dipping to 4.9 per cent. That’s down from 5.1 per cent in May, which was the lowest rate since Statistics Canada started tracking data in 1976.
