Strike averted: Superstore union votes in favour of new contract

PRINCE GEORGE — United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) Local 247 have voted in favour of a new contract with employer, Loblaw.

The union sent an email to CKPG News late this afternoon indicating that 58 per cent of members voted in favour of the latest offer the company put forth. As CKPG reported earlier this week, wages were the number one issue.

The UFCW represent workers at 28 Superstore locations in B.C., including the location in Prince George. They also represent members at three distribution locations.
