PRINCE GEORGE – Shawni Jewett is a mom of six kids and has spent the last 17 years taking care of others. Since the pandemic and many drastic changes in life, things have been put into perspective for her.

“I am recently separated, and it’s not a terrible thing. Everything’s fine. Just kind of trying to figure out my new, [sic] like, normal, and but once that happened, something just switched. And I felt like I’ve spent 17 years having babies and adopting babies and taking care of babies. And that was my life. I, I worked part-time, and I did that.”

Jewett is no stranger to the spotlight after spending a few years modeling for Hawaiin Tropic. She was recently on the alumni page when Maxim Magazine contest ads started to pop up.

“I think it was like an algorithm thing. This Maxim contest kept popping up and I kept closing it or ignoring it, not thinking anything.”

Jewett decided to take a chance. The soon-to-be 40-year-old thought about how crazy the last two years have been and how short life can be. She never thought in a million years she would even get a response back. Then out of nowhere, she received an email.

“There’s no way at my age at this stage in life, no, this isn’t happening. And so then a few days later, I got an email with all of the intake stuff.”

Maxim Magazine has been hosting this type of contest for several years. The selected cover model wins a cover shoot which will be in France this year and $25,000. However, this year they are doing something extra special. Raising money for Homes For Wounded Warriors an American foundation that strives to help veterans returning home. This is something near and dear to her as her previous husband served in the Marines.

Now, she is calling on Prince George to help her reach the top. You can cast a daily vote at Maxim Magazine Cover Girl. Right now Jewett sits second in her group, there is an option to pay for votes as well, with those proceeds going to Wounded Warriors. Jewett never imagined she would make it this far and is thankful for all the support so far.
