RCMP seek help in locating missing senior

PRINCE GEORGE — If you’ve seen 72-year-old Mario Carmelo Fata, the Prince George RCMP would love to hear from you.

Fata’s family last saw him on July 8 and he has not been heard or seen from since. His family is very concerned about his well-being.

Fata is described as:

  • Caucasian male
  • 170 cm (5’7)
  • 80 kg (177 lb)
  • Hazel eyes
  • White hair
  • May be wearing blue pants, black shoes and a coat
  • Walks with a cane
  • Drives a black, 1997 Ford F150 with a canopy, B.C. license plate AX5848

Fata was last seen at his home in the Upper Fraser Area. He lives alone and does not have a cell phone. His vehicle has not been seen at this residence for several days and he has not been sighted at his regular shopping locations.

“Investigators are very concerned for Mario’s well-being. He walks with a slightly stooped posture and a limp. He likes to collect fiddleheads in the area he lives, though he has not been sighted at his regular locations. Police are requesting help from the public in keeping an eye out for Mario Carmelo Fata and asking them call the non-emergency line at 250-561-3300 if anyone sees him or his vehicle,” states Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, media spokesperson for the Prince George RCMP.
