UNBC to offer tuition credit to BC Games’ athletes

PRINCE GEORGE – The BC Summer Games are under a week away and UNBC is taking a page from a previous playbook.

Just as it did with the Canada Winter Games in 2015, in which 25 athletes attended UNBC as part of a bursary, the university is offering athletes who compete in the Games a tuition credit. The credit is a thousand dollars for each of the first two consecutive semesters at UNBC.

UNBC has come on as a signatory sponsor for the event and, for the first time in BC Games’ history, a tuition credit will be available to participating athletes.

The BC Summer Games will draw more than 2.300 athletes from 170 BC communities to compete in Prince George venues between July 21 and July 24. The tuition credit is open to all athletes who compete in the Games and will provide tuition credits of up to $1,000 in each of their first two consecutive semesters at UNBC.
