PRINCE GEORGE – You may have to call him the King of Queen’s.

Former Prince George Spruce Kings’ Kolton Cousins recently committed to continue his hockey career at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, where he will play as a member of the Golden Gaels hockey program.

Cousins played in all 54 games last season, scoring 16 goals and 14 assists. He added two goals and three assists in 10 playoff games. He served as captain during the 2021-22 season.

Over his five-year BCHL career, Cousins scored 33 goals and 28 assists in 189 regular season games. He also played in 26 playoff games.

“I’ve heard nothing but great things about Queen’s. It’s an honour to have the opportunity to be a part of such a first-class school and hockey program. I’m looking forward to the years ahead and am excited to further my development as a player, person, and student through a program known for its excellent environment and culture,” said Cousins in a release issued by the Spruce Kings.

“I honestly can’t thank my family, the Spruce Kings organization, and everyone who has supported me along the way enough for all their support throughout the years. I’ll always be a proud Spruce Kings and I can’t wait to see the great things that this organization continues to do.”
