PRINCE GEORGE – You aren’t guaranteed the position when submitting a job application. Fresh out of high school, two local brothers learned looking for work with a disability is limited.

With the help of family, they built a business that fits their abilities. Sam and Josh Huck have found the sweeties’ jobs in making candy.

The Huck boys and their best friend Riley Grayston started Hobros Candy Co in 2018 when Josh and Riley were graduating from high school.

The boys have varying skills, and together, they form a great team that supports one another. If one cannot do a task, the others jump in to help.

The Huck brothers were born with different abilities. Finding work after high school became an ongoing challenge.

Instead of waiting for an employment opportunity, the family devised an idea to start a candy business.

Since 2018 the young men have been excited to bring their spin on making cotton candy.

In addition to spinning cotton candy, the candy-making crew has developed some freeze-dried candy products.

The mother of the boys, Cheryll Wagner, says “ I would love to pursue a group of persons with disabilities, entrepreneurship and actually work with them. I think empowering them is important, and they are much more capable than what society gives them credit for.”
