Weedon Creek wildfire northwest of Bear Lake classified as “out of control”

PRINCE GEORGE — A wildfire burning near Bear lake has been upgraded and is being classified as “out of control,” according to the BC Wildfire Service (BCWS).

As of Saturday (July 30) morning, the wildfire is 15 hectares in size.

For a size reference, one hectare is the equivalent of roughly 2.5 football fields.

The fire is believed to be human-caused according to the BC Wildfire Service.
