Jul 31, 2022 | 6:55 AM
PRINCE GEORGE — The Weedon Creek wildfire burning about 40 kilometres northwest of Bear Lake is classified as “being held” according to an update from the BC Wildfire Service (BCWS).
“Being held” means that crews have suppressed the fire enough that it shouldn’t spread beyond the existing boundaries of the fire, or the expected boundaries under the forecast weather conditions.
The estimated size is recorded at 15 hectares, the same size as was reported Saturday (July 30).
It is believed the fire was human-casued, sparking on Thursday (June 28).
