Cougars’ Kmec to represent Slovakia at World Juniors

PRINCE GEORGE – There will be some Prince George Cougars representation at the re-scheduled 2022 World Juniors, which get underway Aug. 9.

Defenceman Viliam Kmec was listed on the Team Slovakia roster posted to their social media over the weekend. The 18-year-old was a member of the original Slovakian team for the tournament prior to its cancellation last winter due to COVID-19 cases.

The product of Kosice, Slovakia was selected by Prince George in the second round, 104th overall, in the 2021 Canadian Hockey League Import Draft.
