Armed robbery at Koops bike shop

PRINCE GEORGE—An armed robbery at Koops Bike Shop on Wednesday, August 17, 2022, ended with one man in custody.

Just before 4:00 p.m. the suspect began to leave Koops with a bike, When store employees attempted to stop the suspect, he threatened them with a weapon. No one was injured in the incident.

“Police officers immediately flooded the area and began to look for the suspect. With assistance from several witnesses who provided police with accurate descriptions of the suspect’s clothing and last direction of travel, investigators located the man within 30 minutes of the theft occurring. The suspect was arrested without incident, and the bicycle was returned to the store,” states Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations officer for the Prince George RCMP.

The suspect is remaining in custody until his next court date. He is previously known to police.
