Barkerville is rich in history and experiences. We headed on the road once again to learn all about panning for gold. According to the Barkerville website; British Columbia’s central interior has been profoundly shaped by gold thanks to a simple, working-class English prospector named William ‘Billy’ Barker who, in 1862, spearheaded a twenty-year, multi-billion dollar industrial revolution that literally helped build a Province. We caught up with gold panning instructor Alex Alvarez, who showed us the proper way to pan for gold.
