PRINCE GEORGE—Back to school is rapidly approaching and that means kids packed together in classrooms. One of the most common concerns for many people is head lice. A mostly harmless but annoying little bug that can make you life miserable.

“So head lice or nits, as we know, can affect anyone. Head lice are annoying and may cause itching, but they do not transmit or cause disease. Importantly, and I think most commonly it’s found in children.”

“ So importantly, head lice can affect anyone. Some options for treatment include wet combing, which is a non chemical method. Head lice spray and head lice, shampoo and rinse. And I want to emphasize that Northern Health does not support school exclusion, early dismissal and no net policies as these disrupt the education process and adversely affect self-esteem for children and others.”
