PRINCE GEORGE– As you may have noticed Prince George has experienced hot weather over the past couple of days, including breaking a heat record Thursday that was standing for 90 years says Environment Canada. The maximum temperature reached yesterday was 31.3 degrees, breaking a record was standing since 1932 when the temperature reached 31.1 degrees.

For the Prince George Fire Centre, it meant always being prepared because of the extremely dry conditions. Now, mother nature is expected to make it rain, which can be positive and negative on the wildfire front with both precipitation and lightning possible.

It is however supposed to warm up next week with temperatures expected to reach the high 20s after this brief rain.
