‘It was the worst phone call a mother could imagine’: Mother provides Hart Highway crash update

PRINCE GEORGE — “It was the worst phone call a mother could imagine.”

That from the mother of the woman involved in yesterday’s single-vehicle crash on the Hart Highway and Noranda Road at around 2 p.m.

She says her daughter started to feel dizzy just before the crash and was taken to hospital.

“I was on the phone with her when she said she felt dizzy, then I heard the crash and my granddaughter crying,” she told CKPG Today. “I told her I was hanging up to call 9-1-1. It’s the worst phone call a mother can imagine.”

“My daughter was airlifted to Vancouver General Hospital early this morning and is in stable condition. Not sure if she had a medical issue or if the accident caused injuries. I’m still waiting to hear from the hospital.”

Her granddaughter was also in the crash and was treated at the scene with a few band aids from glass.

The accident closed the highway northbound for a couple of hours as investigators did their work.
