Sim NewB already having a big impact in northern B.C.

PRINCE GEORGE — A new piece of medical equipment in Prince George is already having a big impact on healthcare in the North.

Sim NewB is the new addition to the Northern Clinical Simulation Program and Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation says it’s already supported five training sessions that have resulted in 15 local healthcare professionals receiving their neonatal resuscitation certification.

Sim NewB will be used to create simulations that require a series of emergency procedures to be performed by healthcare teams to support newborn babies who are not breathing, gasping, or have a weak heartbeat at birth.
