Diesel spill causes traffic disruption on Highway 16 West

PRINCE GEORGE — Motorists beware.

A single-vehicle accident involving a tractor trailer shortly after 1 a.m. this morning has caused a traffic disruption on Highway 16 West near Jutland Road.

“The incident caused a large diesel spill on the highway and flagging crews are still at the location currently as the debris is cleared from the area. The highway is closed eastbound, with a detour available. There is one westbound lane open. Drivers are encouraged to check DriveBC for further updates,” says Prince George RCMP Cpl. Jennifer Cooper.

Police say the driver was uninjured, noting criminality was not involved.
