PRINCE GEORGE —Trudy Klassen has launched her campaign for a seat on Prince George City Council.

Asked about her priorities if elected, she pointed to the need for housing in the city.

“One of my main focuses is to get more approvals for housing development because we’re short 10,000 homes.”

She says another focus is economic development.

“Not only in Prince George but also around the region and to become the true northern capital.”

Klassen adds that what the city really needs right now is “a fresh perspective.”

“I have a history of working in accountability issues and I think that’s what’s important at this time. I really believe that each taxpayer dollar is really important to spend wisely. We all know we’ve seen a lot of mismanagement in that regard and I think we need new faces with new perspectives and people with the courage and strength to actually make that happen.”

Election day is scheduled for October 15.
