Early morning fire on 11th Ave causes $65k in damages

PRINCE GEORGE — Prince George Fire Rescue responded to a fire early this morning on the 1700 block of 11th Avenue.

Assistant Chief Glen Nowoczin says it broke out at approximately 3 a.m. with crews arriving to find heavy smoke and flame coming from an unoccupied addition to the home.

Firefighters initiated a rapid attack to the fire and kept it from spreading to the rest of the house.

There were no injuries with damages estimated at $65,000. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
