RCMP recover bodies of missing canoeists

FRASER LAKE — The Fraser Lake RCMP has recovered the bodies of two men who went missing during a canoe trip on Fraser Lake September 5.

The RCMP’s Underwater Recovery Team located the bodies of Alberto Calago and Gibrone Cano at noon on Saturday (Sept.10).

They were last seen at around 12:30 on September 5 in a green canoe paddling towards a small island on the lake.

The families have asked for privacy at this time while the Fraser Lake RCMP are thanking all community members for their support during the search.
