PRINCE GEORGE- Studio 2880 is taking its programming up a level this fall with a brand new studio upstairs for aspiring digital content creators.

“The concept was just phenomenal,” said Christina Watts of Studio 2880 We leaped and worked to get this going upstairs here so it could be enjoyed by more people.”

The studio hopes to offer something for everyone with a new podcast studio, dark room, editing suite, and photo lab.

“These are inaugural classes,” said Watts. ” We have video content creation for social media. That’s a six-session course starting September 20th. Then it gets into podcast one-to-one. So if you’re interested in podcasting, that’s the one to take.”

Local artist Michael Kast believes new media is essential to the arts community in Prince George.

“They are all valid art forms. The spoken word regarding podcasts can be just as entertaining as going to the gallery and looking at some beautiful paintings,” said Kast.

Those already using the brand new space are loving it.

“I find this a great opportunity because I came and photographed all my alphabet paintings last week,” said Elizabeth Eakin, a local artist in Prince George. “It was painless. I came back this week, and then she showed me how to do the editing and cropping.”
