PRINCE GEORGE — The engineers behind the University Heights subdivision on Tyner Boulevard are looking for approval for the latest phase of construction. The company is looking to build 69 townhomes with three bedrooms each.

The development would go up on a five hectare piece of land backing onto Tyner Boulevard and accessed via Rowe Street.

The application, which will be presented in front of the Advisory Committee of Development Design (ACDD) on Wednesday highlights the strategies the builders are using to make sure the development is safe: Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design. There will be lights installed on each unit to illuminate the roads. There will only be one way to enter and exit the development, with vegetation planted to ensure no unwelcome people enter the area.

This phase of development will bring the University Heights subdivision up to 355 units. No traffic study will be required until 420 dwellings are constructed.
