RCMP seeking witnesses following fatal Hart Highway crash
PRINCE GEORGE — RCMP have confirmed one person was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 97 yesterday afternoon.
The crash occurred at the highway and Weisbrod Road at around 4 p.m.. Investigators have determined that a blue Pontiac Torrent crossed the centre median and collided with a logging truck.
“The driver of the Pontiac Torrent did not survive the incident, while the single passenger was transported to hospital in critical condition. The driver of the logging truck was not seriously injured. Police closed the highway for several hours while an RCMP Collision Reconstructionist attended to gather evidence from the area,” states Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.
Police are looking to speak with any witnesses to this incident that were not spoken to on Monday night. Investigators are also asking that anyone that has dash cam footage of the incident, to call police at (250)561-3300.
