Warm Temperatures expected to continue

PRINCE GEORGE – The gift of warm weather we are experiencing will likely stay with us for a few more days. The above-seasonal temperatures cover many parts of the province, including Prince George.

Unseasonably warm, dry weather that typically occurs near the end of August continues to stay with us because of the high ridge of pressure sitting over the province.

According to Dr. Dery, warmer than average sea surface temperatures contribute to pleasant temperatures.

“ If we look at the sea surface temperatures in the North Pacific Ocean, it indicates warmer than average temperatures. I believe this is a factor leading to the warmer than average temperatures within experiencing across British Columbia for the past month.”
