Worthy Warriors is back
PRINCE GEORGE – The Worthy Warriors campaign is back and Modern Match lingeries is asking for help from the city’s women.
Celebrating its third annual Worthy Warriors campaign, supporting our most vulnerable women in Prince George, BC, and is reaching out to Northern BC women to donate their old bras. The Worthy Warriors initiative started in 2020 when women’s shelters in Prince George saw an uptick in women seeking refuge, and domestic abuse hotlines saw an increase in calls. The pandemic meant more women and girls were left at home with their abusers for longer periods of time. This is when CEO, and founder, of Modern Match Lingerie, Shauna Allan, jumped into action to support the women who need it most.
“Women escaping a life of abuse often leave with just the clothes on their back. And if they’re seeking refuge with children, their main priority is getting their children to safety, leaving their own needs on the back burner. For a lot of women, bras are a necessity but a cost they can’t financially afford, so they suffer without,” says Shauna Allan, Founder, CEO of Modern Match Lingerie.
Last year, over a thousand bras were donated in one week.
