PRINCE GEORGE- After unveiling new art last week, Cedars Christian School cut the ribbon Saturday on their brand new gymnasium.
“Excited is an understatement,” said Steve Wilson, the athletic director at Cedars Christian School.
With this brand new gym comes brand new opportunities for the school.
” We can hold a lot more tournaments at our own facility without having to pay for rentals,” said Wilson. ” We’ve hosted provincial championships before, but now we get to host a provincial championship here on December 1 to 3 for senior girls volleyball.”
There is no doubt this new gym is a massive win for the Cedars Christian School, but also one for the city of Prince George.
” We Get the opportunity to open up our facility to the community, Prince George youth volleyball club or basketball clubs that we have here to allow other places, other institutions, other organizations to use our facility as well,” said Wilson. ” We want to think it is more than just for the school, but for the community.”
Wilson also told CKPG news that the new gym allows pickleball and other racket sports to be played.
Cedars Christian School’s plans for the facility go further than a gym, hoping to have classrooms, offices and a performing arts theatre on campus
