Oct 11, 2022 | 6:17 AM

PRINCE GEORGE — The final all-candidates election forum happens tonight (Oct.11) at the Omineca Arts Centre at 369 Victoria Street.

The focus tonight is on poverty, homelessness and the drug poisoning crisis and is being hosted by the PG Community Health & Inclusion Coalition. It starts at 6 p.m.

The PG Community Health & Inclusion Coalition (PG CHIC) will release candidate scorecards tomorrow (Oct.12).

“These scores will be assessed through the lens of our core values of equity, inclusion, and community health, using all information available in an objective assessment,” says the group.

Members of PG CHIC are assessing each candidate based on the following:

reconciliation

harm reduction

sustainability

housing/homelessness

accessibility

The group released its preliminary endorsements earlier this month: Simon Yu for mayor, and James Steidle, Wesley Mitchell, Chris Stern, Colleen Mahoney, and Cori Ramsay for council.

Advance polls will be held tomorrow at UNBC and Wednesday at the CN Centre. General voting day is October 15.
