Doherty appointed shadow minister for mental health and suicide prevention

PRINCE GEORGE — Cariboo-Prince George Conservative MP Todd Doherty has been appointed his party’s shadow minister for mental health and suicide prevention.
In a statement, Doherty says he’s truly honoured with the posting, adding we’ve made great strides these past few years in these areas.
Doherty has long been a mental health advocate. In fact last year he received the Champions of Mental Health Award from the Canadian Alliance on Mental Illness and Mental Health.
In 2020 he passed his three digit suicide prevention hotline motion in the House of Commons. Those three digits are 9-8-8.
