Flu shots now available ahead of possible bad flu season
PRINCE GEORGE — Flu shots are now available to everyone, as flu season kicks into high gear this fall.
The B.C. Ministry of Health is strongly encouraging everyone to get their flu shot as cases of influenza are poised to go up after last year’s relatively mild flu season.
With many Covid-19 public health measures now lifted, such as physical distancing and wearing a mask indoors, this could lead to an increase in cases of the flu. Officials say that getting your flu shot will be another layer of protection, to prevent illness and hospitalization.
Getting your flu shot this year may look a bit different as the provincial government will send out a notification telling you when you can get your shot. The Get Vaccinated system is the same one that is used to send out Covid-19 vaccine appointment invitations.
