Police standoff downtown

PRINCE GEORGE- RCMP surrounded the Econo lodge unit 258 tonight after receiving a call just before 5:50 PM.

Eight vehicles are on site, along with the K9 unit. Rifles and pistols have been drawn, with officers calling out on a megaphone.

A CKPG reporter heard a large crack and is unsure if it was a gunshot. There was no movement after the loud noise.

People in neighbouring units were evacuated just after 6 PM Saturday.
