Campaign on to raise funds for local Wetland-Bog
PRINCE GEORGE – The Prince George region is home to one of the three most extensive wetlands in the Upper Fraser. The Nature Trust of BC is on a mission to raise 75 000 dollars to protect four parcels of land within the Meteor Lake Wetland-Bog area with critical environmental importance.
Meteor Lake Lake Wetland-Bog is located northeast of Prince George across the Fraser River from the community of Sinclair Mills. The area is 2000 hectares in size.
“ Stanley Park in Vancouver. This is five times larger than that, 60 times larger than Cottonwood Island Nature Park in Prince George. And in practical terms, I calculated about 12,000 hockey rinks. So it’s a pretty big chunk of land there. And when I walked around it, I was struck by the vastness of it.”
