Engage Sport North running free program to help kids stay active

PRINCE GEORGE– The Northern Sport Centre was a busy place Tuesday morning filled with kids aged 0-5 getting active! All part of the Active Star Program presented by Engage Sport North.

“In addition to free play on the indoor turf, our trained leaders will engage children in games and activities that will help your child develop the physical literacy needed for a lifetime of physical activity. Parents are welcome to participate with their children or leave children with the program staff and take advantage of everything the Northern Sport Centre has to offer.” –Sarah Saunders, Manager of Sport Development.

The free program is offered Monday to Thursday from 9-11 am with the goal of helping children develop fundamental movement skills and enjoy physical activity at a young age. The field was scattered with hurdles, tubes, building blocks, nets, and an assortment of balls. All while encouraging parents and kids to get active.
