An electrical malfunction caused a morning fire.

PRINCE GEORGE – Prince George Fire Rescue crews from three halls responded to a reported structure fire in the 5000 block of Crest Road around seven this morning.

When crews arrived, they found light smoke exiting the residence’s front door. Occupants were alerted to a fire in the garage, knocking down most of the flames before the fire crew’s arrival.

When emergency crews ensured the fire had not spread and ventilated the smoke from home. The fire was held in the garage area. The cause of the fire was due to an electrical malfunction.
