Early morning crash claims a life just south of 150 Mile House

150 MILE HOUSE — An early morning collision on Highway 97 at 141 Mile has claimed a life.

Williams Lake RCMP say they arrived on scene shortly after midnight (Oct.20) to find a Hyundai Accent and a tractor-trailer unit had collided head-on.

“Following the collision, the semi caught on fire but thankfully the two occupants were able to escape the burning cab uninjured,” says S/Sgt. Del Byron.

He says the driver of the Hyundai, a 64-year-old woman from Lac Le Hache, was pronounced dead at the scene.

“While this investigation is ongoing, police do not believe there to be a criminal element into the cause of the crash,” adds Byron.
