Spruce Kings fall short at the showcase

A shootout loss for the Spruce Kings to the Eagles

CHILLIWACK – The Prince George Spruce Kings (6-3-0-1) couldn’t hold on to secure the win yesterday (Thursday) at the BCHL Showcase in Chilliwack as the Surrey Eagles (8-0-0-0) came back to win 4-3 in a shootout and keep their undefeated record intact.

Top-line centreman Jake Bongo scored the game winner for the Eagles.

Prince George ended up having to settle for a single point as they wrapped up their time at the BCHL Showcase. They lost to the Coquitlam Express in a 5-1 final Wednesday afternoon.

Spruce Kings Goalie Jordan Fairlie stopped 22 of 25 shots in yesterday’s loss,with goals from Luca Primerano, Adam Mendelson,and Kilian McGregor Bennett .

The Spruce Kings will be back in action tomorrow (Saturday) night in Vernon for a visit against the Vipers. 99.3 Rewind Radio will have the broadcast, starting with the pre- game show at 5:45. The puck drops at 6.
