PRINCE GEORGE — The events room may be empty now but a whole host of events are coming down the pipeline that will keep kids and adults busy for the colder months to come.

“We have a new program season starting for youth on November the first, which is a Tuesday. So story time. Teen Alliance, tabletop games, are all going to be coming back on a weekly basis. And then we also have some exciting one-off events coming up as well, including a Nerf event for teens coming up this Friday,” said Larissa Clotildes a Community Engagement Librarian.

That is right, A nerf event in the library, and it is not the first one they have done, and it won’t be the last one either.

“They’re just one of our exciting ones is definitely a nontraditional program. It’s an after-hours event. So there’s kind of that excitement of being locked into the library after everybody else has left and getting the run of the place. So they’re always a popular program. We just had one for adults. Now we’ve got one for teens. Coming up, we have a double digits, one coming up later on. So it appeals to any age group,” continues Clotildes.

The original nerf event was for adults and was hosted back in July but the fun is not over for the older generations.

“We also have for adults, these taken make sculpture bags. They’ll be launching on November the first. So in them, you will find everything you need to make your own little sculpture animals. So there’s wire to make the frame tinfoil and then some old book bits to make it into your paper mache.”

Nightmare Nerf runs this Friday for teenagers at the Bob Harkins branch with limited registration spots. Events like Lego building and tabletop games run weekly between the downtown and Nechako Branch. For more information about any of the events listed you can visit the library website
