PRINCE GEORGE- Over 950 days ago, The Exploration Place closed its doors due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Now, this morning, they cut the ribbon celebrating a new and fresh look.

“It’s nice to see it all come together. It’s been a drawing on my desk for a very long time. And yeah, our team pulled together, and we got it done,” said Elizabeth Schoenthal, the assistant curator at The Exploration Place.

Exploration place is jam-packed with exhibits that feature everything from Snakes and spiders to fish, the most giant cockroaches you will ever see, and displays full of history and education. One region is at the forefront of it all.

“We wanted to focus on British Columbia dinosaurs, fossils and also just British Columbia history, specifically in the north, as much as possible,” said Schoenthal.

One of the new features is a brand-new restaurant with a similar outlook.

“Today’s a great day,” said Jeni Arnott, the manager of Origins Kitchen. “There’s a ton of B.C. products that will be utilized, and it will be great, like from little things like salt that you put into your food to do the veggies and meat from Dawson’s Creek.”

The Exploration Place re-opens its doors to the public this Saturday, October 29th.
