PRINCE GEORGE — Update: Prince George RCMP officers were lucky to escape injury early this morning after their vehicle was rammed by another driver.

RCMP say it all started shortly after 1 a.m. when RCMP saw a vehicle leaving a residence on the 7600-block of Gladstone Drive known to them for having ties to the drug trade.

Police say the car accelerated away when it noticed the police but when it turned around in a nearby cul-de-sac came back and rammed the RCMP cruiser, deploying the air bags.

The vehicle was later located on the 7200-block of St Lawrence Place though the suspects had fled. With the help of the police service dog team, the suspects were tracked to a travel trailer on the 7500-block of Juliard Place and arrested.

This is the second time in less than a week that people associated with this residence have been involved in acts of violence against the police.
