2 Cougars named to NHL Central Scouting’s ‘Preliminary Players to Watch’ List

PRINCE GEORGE– The WHL has announced that 43 players have been named to NHL Central Scouting’s ‘Preliminary Players to Watch List ahead of the 2023 NHL Draft. Two of them being Prince George Cougars.

Riley Heidt and Koehn Ziemmer have both been named players to watch in the rankings. NHL Central Scouting has ranked Riley Heidt an “A” rating which indicates players projected to be first-round candidates. Koehn Ziemmer has been named a “B” rating which projects him to be a 2nd or 3rd-round candidate.

So far each player has had a great start to the year with Heidt and Ziemmer combining for 29 points early on this season. Individually Riley Heidt has racked up 12 points in 10 games, meanwhile, Koehn Ziemmer has 17 points in 10 games which puts him 4th in the WHL for scoring.
